“I have baptized you
with water; he will baptize you with the holy Spirit.” Mark
1:8
The Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey
of commitment and discipleship in the Catholic Church. Whether we
are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of
celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.
St. Paul expressed the meaning of Baptism in terms of a break with
the old and the beginning of new life in Christ.
We celebrate Baptism on most Sundays at 1:30 p.m. For infant Baptisms,
please call the Parish Office at 744-8566 at least two months before
the birth of your child to arrange an appointment for an interview.
A pre-Baptismal meeting for parents and godparents, held on the
first Monday of the month at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel, is required.
Godparents must be confirmed, practicing Catholics.
