Ministry - Worship and Liturgy

St. Louis de Montfort offers a variety of Worship and Liturgy ministries and opportunities to volunteer with these ministries. Please contact the designated person listed if you would like more information about a particular ministry.

All of our Parish volunteers are required to attend VIRTUS Training and to update that training each month via training bulletins on the Internet. This is extremely important, so that we, as a Church, can take every possible step to protect the people we are trying to help.

Altar Server and Master Deacon Joe Bartolotto 744-8566	Altar Servers are liturgical ministers who assist the priest and deacon and Mass and at special liturgies during the year. Altar Servers perform their ministry so that our worship can be more prayerful and meaningful.
Eucharistic Minister Deacon Joe Bartolotto and Millie Bartolotto 744-8566	This ministry serves God and the faithful community by bring his Body and Blood to our fellow Parishioners. Eucharistic Ministers attend a training seminar given by the Diocese, and additional training is available for those who wish to minister to the sick and homebound of our parish.
Lector Sandy Bohn 744-8566	A lector, in Latin, is a broad definition for a person who reads, aloud or not. The first part of the Mass, the reading of the scriptures, is brought to life by the Lector. This ministry celebrates the Word of God at our weekly and daily liturgies, and at various events throughout the year. For more information on becoming a Lector, please contact Sandy Bohn.
Usher Andy Terraciano 744-8566	Ushers are Ministers of Hospitality. Ushers are men or women, teenagers to adults, who assist at weekend Masses and other services. Ushers greet parishioners, assist in seating, collect the monetary gifts at the Offertory, help maintain an orderly communion procession and respond to any special needs of the parishioners.
Liturgy Committee Claudette Kosciuk 744-9396	Since liturgy is the “primary and indispensable source from which the faithful are to derive the true Christian Spirit…” (GIRM), this committee’s work is also indispensable. The Liturgy Committee helps plan the liturgical seasons, sacramental celebrations and other liturgical events of our parish, including Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Lent, The Triduum, Easter and Pentecost.
Adult Choir Claudette Kosciuk 744-9396	Our music ministry serves to assist the assembly in prayer through song and instrumental music at Mass and special liturgies throughout the year. The choir’s repertoire includes traditional as well as contemporary selections. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings in the Church and performances are at the 10:30 Mass on Sundays.
Cantors Claudette Kosciuk 744-9396	Cantors are leaders of prayer and animators of the community's worship. Cantors enhance the prayer of the faithful by leading the assembly in song during the weekend Masses. Rehearsals are scheduled on an individual basis by the music director.
Contemporary Ensemble Jennifer Testa 744-9396	This group of musicians assists in the celebration of the 12:00 noon Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, by performing contemporary selections of songs that enhance the liturgical word. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 8:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. in the church.
Children’s Choir Claudette Kosciuk 744-9396	Experience the exuberant joy of children’s voices being raised up to the Lord. Children in grades 3-6 join in the ministry of song at the 9:00 Mass and at special services throughout the year. Rehearsals are Mondays from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Chapel.
Youth Choir Claudette Kosciuk 744-9396	The members of this ministry praise God through song and instruments at the 12:00 noon Mass on the 3rd Sunday of the month, and other special services throughout the year. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 6:00 p.m.-700 p.m. in the Chapel.
Funeral Choir Claudette Kosciuk 744-9396	Members of this ministry lend their voices to lead the assembly during funeral Masses. Please contact Claudette Kosciuk for more information on joining this ministry.
New Song Group Judy Baurnfiend 849-4178	Members of this ministry praise God with new songs, voice and instruments at the 12:00 noon Mass on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Rehearsals are on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
Arts and Environment Dee Manicone 744-8566	Every human art form to express and celebrate the saving work of Jesus is necessary for good liturgy. This ministry helps create an environment in the Church and Chapel that is conducive to worship, evoking a sense of awareness of the different liturgical seasons.
Baptism Bibs Deacon Joe Bartolotto 744-8566	Members of this ministry make the bibs worn by the children as they receive the Sacrament of Baptism.
